About Youth Activities

Following is a short list of what our Youth Group (grades 6-12) is about.

The Youth are encouraged to share their spiritual gifts in ministry within the Church.

They also meet for fun, fellowship and an occasional pizza.

They have gone bowling, camping, hiking, played video games, and had other fun activities

The Youth serve the Church as an acolyte, lector, usher and choir member.

The Jordan Youth groups help with the Christmas program, volunteer at Vacation Bible School, assist at the Easter Egg Hunt, collect money for the “souper bowl” to raise money for the Allentown Rescue Mission and our own Food Bank to feed those less fortunate, including disaster victims.

During Lent, the Youth Group attend both the Wednesday Lenten Soup Supper and the Worship Service as a group. After worship, they re-group in the Youth Group Room for the remainder of their meeting time.

The Youth go on retreats, some attend the ELCA Church wide youth gatherings. Three members traveled to Saxony Germany for the Saxony companion Synod Youth Exchange. The three youth shared their amazing trip experiences, including the many people they met, with the congregation.
